ROBERT REDFORD

No me entusiasma poner noticias de este tipo. Se supone que este blog es para todo lo contrario. Pero hay personas y hechos relacionados con ellas sobre las que uno no puede pasar de puntillas. Esta noticia es de las que duelen. Robert Redford nos ha dejado. Por lo visto, murió mientras dormía, aunque no se sabe la causa del fallecimiento.

Ni siquiera tiene sentido nombrar alguna de las muchas películas legendarias en las que ha participado. Aparte de EL GOLPE (THE STING, dirigida por GEORGE ROY HILL y estrenada en 1973), por supuesto, ya que es una de esas cintas por las que mayormente será recordado. Y una de los mejores.

El festival de SUNDANCE, su amistad con PAUL NEWMAN, un aura carismático como pocos y un montón de cosas más quedarán para siempre en el recuerdo. Y es que se ha ido uno de los actores más importantes de la historia del cine, y un director muy a tener en cuenta.

Poco más se puede decir.

I'm not enthused about posting these kinds of news. This blog is meant to be about quite the opposite. But there are people and events related to them that I just can't tiptoe through. This ine hits really hard. Robert Redford has departed. Apparently, he died while in his sleep, although the cause remains unknown.

There's no point in naming any of the many legendary films he's been involved in. Barring THE STING (directed by GEORGE ROY HILL and premiered in 1973), of course, for being one of those he will mostly be remembered for. And one of the very best.

SUNDANCE's festival, his friendship with PAUL NEWMAN, a charismatic aura like few others and many more things will always be in everyone's memories. Because one of the most important actors in the entire filming history is gone, and a remarkable director as well.

Not much else can be said.
